A great choice and something of a mouth watering start. The most logical thing to do is to start looking through their websites and get some quotations. Still all very manageable. So what is the issue? Well firstly you are only viewing the ones you saw on the net, which means just the ones who have the best search engine position, unless you went back to page 22. I really don't feel comfortable with that selection process, I would rather find the most reliable supplier. What I want in essence is a reliable supplier who meets strict criteria. If you are familiar with of pub guide, then you know what I mean if you also try using pub reviews from the web. The issue is of independent recommendation, these suppliers are sales people and will occasionally make outrageous claims to get your cash. This is where the web sources such as Alibaba can be able to help with their gold supplier status etc. Instead they are just another advertising medium which will prioritize paying advertisers and therefore number of views an advert gets the same that Google sells its ppc ads. So given the fact that it's like the wild west out there what can you do? Well at Moko Art we were made to rely upon good old fashioned intuition and human nature. I disregarded Indonesian sellers after an awful experience with another venture and after looking at the paintings for sale China seemed the best bet. It was a cost as well as product driven decision but the actual prices and the seller had yet to be verified. several emails later the field was rapidly narrowing. This is where MSN messenger comes into its own, an opportunity to quiz the person and judge a few characteristics. I'll tell you now this didn't work as he claimed to be the company owner but was in effect a simple farmer turned sales person. The draw of the money was enough to turn this guy into a raving crook. This is the big problem the dollar is king and with low wages then the opportunity to make a weeks salary off of selling to you means the temptation to lie is massive. The eventual problems I had were product quality, they fulfilled the order but to a low standard. Minimum possible degree of quality. That is where you need to focus, find as good a supplier as possible then question your self what am I going to get and what can I do about it if it's not what you thought I was buying.
